In short
- PickleBoard uses one cookie, to keep you signed in, plus some storage in your browser that remembers settings you choose, such as your theme.
- We use no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
- The only optional items are embedded YouTube live streams and Google Maps. They load only if you allow them.
1What this policy covers
This policy explains how iCTO U.K. Ltd, trading as PickleBoard (“we”), uses cookies and similar technologies on the PickleBoard website, web app and Community. Similar technologies include your browser’s local storage, the service-worker cache and push subscriptions. It also covers the PickleBoard mobile apps (section 6). It forms part of our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data more generally.
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Local storage works in a similar way but is never sent to our servers automatically. The law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the UK GDPR) lets us use cookies and storage that are strictly necessary for a service you've asked for without consent. Anything else needs your consent first.
2Your choices
You can change your choice at any time here. It is saved in this browser only, so on another device or browser you will be asked again.
Turn JavaScript on to change your cookie settings here. Without JavaScript, optional embedded content never loads.
You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. If you delete the sign-in cookie, you will be signed out. If you delete local storage, your preferences reset and we will ask about cookies again. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a “no” to optional content until you choose otherwise here.
3Strictly necessary
These are needed to sign you in, keep your account secure and make the app work. They can't be switched off here, because the Platform won't work without them.
| Name | Type | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
pb_admin | Cookie (first-party, HttpOnly, Secure) | Keeps you signed in after you log in, for every type of account. The name is historical. | 7 days, or until you sign out |
pb_consent | Local storage | Remembers the cookie choices you make on this page or in the banner. | 12 months, then we ask again |
pb_face_signin, pb_ctrl_api_key, pb_key, pb_score_token, pb_community_session | Local storage | Sign-in on this device. This covers Face ID or passkey sign-in if you turn it on, an API key or scoring-tablet pairing an organiser set up, and your session in the Community. | Until you sign out, turn the option off, or the key is revoked |
pb_ck_lock, pb_sk_lock, pb_sk_full | Local storage | Keeps a check-in or score-entry kiosk locked, or in full screen, until a staff member unlocks it. | Until unlocked |
pb-control-v1 and app files | Service-worker cache | Stores the app’s own files so it loads quickly and keeps working on a poor connection. It contains no personal data. | Replaced with each new release |
| Push subscription | Browser push service | Delivers the notifications you turned on, for example match alerts, club announcements and breaking news. | Until you turn notifications off |
4Preferences you set
When you change a setting, we save it in your browser so the app remembers it. This storage exists only because you asked for that setting. It stays on your device and is never used to track you.
| Name | What it remembers | How long |
|---|---|---|
pb_theme, pb_community_theme, pb_brand_theme | Light, dark or system appearance, and the theme you were previewing | Until you change it |

pb.scorer.court, pb_score_court, pb_score_courtname, pb_comm_court, pb_callout_cfg | Which court a scorer, commentator or announcer screen is following | Until you change it |
pickleboard.tt*, pickleboard.collapsibles, pickleboard.dashHideIdle, pickleboard.personShowAll, pb_treg_*, pb_*_sec, pb_runbook_* | Layout choices, such as timetable view and zoom, filters, collapsed sections, the section you last opened, and setup checklist progress | Until you change them |
pb.pickem.name, pb.pickem.pid, pb_community_saved | Your Pick’em entry name, and posts you saved in the Community | Until you clear them |
pb_a2hs_dismissed | That you dismissed the “add to home screen” prompt | Until you clear site data |
5Optional: embedded content
Some pages can show content hosted by another company. That company can set its own cookies or read identifiers in your browser, so we don't load it unless you allow it. Until then, you'll see a placeholder with a Load button and a link to open the content on the provider’s own site instead.
| Provider | Where it appears | What it does | Their policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube (Google) | A tournament’s live page, when the organiser adds a live stream for the day | Plays the stream. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode where possible, but YouTube can still store identifiers (such as VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, YSC) once you play a video. | Google cookies |
| Google Maps (Google) | Club event pages that include a location | Shows an interactive map of the venue. Google can set cookies such as NID. | Google cookies |
The cookie names above are set and controlled by Google, and may change. If you choose Load on one placeholder, only that item loads, this time. Choosing Always allow, or turning on embedded content above, allows it everywhere until you change your mind.
6What we don't use, and our apps
- No advertising, analytics, social-media or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share browsing data. If we ever want to add something like that, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
- Fonts. Our pages use fonts hosted on our own servers. A few broadcast-overlay pages, used by organisers’ streaming software, load fonts from Google Fonts. Google receives the IP address of the machine showing them, but sets no cookies.
- Payment pages. When you pay a plan, a club membership or a session fee, you go to a page hosted by Stripe. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process the payment and prevent fraud, under the Stripe Cookie Policy. These aren't set on PickleBoard pages.
- Our mobile apps don't use cookies for tracking. They keep your sign-in in your device’s secure keychain, and register a device token with Apple or Google only if you turn on notifications. They don't use your device’s advertising identifier, and they don't track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- Links. If you follow a link to another site (for example YouTube, Google Maps, DUPR or a club’s website), that site’s own cookie policy applies.
7Changes and contact
We review this policy when we change what the Platform stores. If we add a new type of optional cookie, we will ask for your consent again before using it. Questions? Email privacy@pickleboard.app.
